My boyfriend used to be so sweet & he has become increasingly verbally aggressive with me lately. He threatens me (not yet with murder!) & says he's joking (please see my other question if you want details). We live together.

Last night, I dreamt that he had killed me. My grieving father didn't see me standing there as someone dug me up (dismembered?) from my BFs backyard. I saw a dirty, clear plastic tarp & there was something "important" about my head.. I heard a "voiceover" warning me with a phrase: IN-F***ING-TRANSITORY and I saw this phrase superimposed over my "grave".

I next saw a hospital room (I was standing, yet, covered up) and I saw a dr's hand holding 4 Q-tips (each in a glass vial with my blood. 2 vials were the size of eye droppers and the other 2 were maybe twice as long). I knew that my body was bleeding (or had been), although I also knew that I wasn't in my body. I saw one of those little office-sized x-mas trees on the counter.

The night before last, I had a nightmare that seems related, in hindsight. I was sitting on the couch with my mother & it was as if we were WAITING. Just WAITING. The phone rang & it was the (very trustworthy) family friend who had introduced me to my BF. I wondered why neither of us picked up the phone, as the call went through to voice mail.

I picked up & talked but got no response. I handed the phone to my mom & watched her face fall. Someone had died (Icould tell) & she dropped the phone. I picked it up & talked again to the friend who couldn’t hear me. In hindsight, I think in this dream, I was witnessing my mother finding out that I was dead. Also, the whole time we were on the couch I realized (after I woke up) that she didn’t know I was there with her- she thought she was alone).

Thoughts anyone?? Is there any non-literal interpretation of this? Thanks.

I don't watch horror movies or much tv at all. I read classic literature & I study comparitive theology. I'm otherwise a rather calm soul.

Wow thats a crazy dream. I am no expert, but it seems like your subconcious could be warning you that you need to get out before it gets worse. I DO know that when you dream about being in a hospital, it means you need to heal some emotional, spiritual or physical wounds that you might have created or not fixed.

NO one that claims to love you should ever threaten you in any way.
You might want to take this as a first sign that something is wrong in your relationship. When you dream your mind is letting go of what ever it hear or saw during the day time. It might be that in the light of day you laughed off the “threats” but deep down you are worried.

Take an hour or two think about the past few months … When did the change in behavior take place?
Write out a list of possible causes.
Talk with him about what you think the cause is.
If you feel that he is having anger issues there is free help in your community. There is a nation wide anger management program.
It is free!
If you cant feel safe in your own home? Where can you feel safe?

Death: Symbol of change in dreams that should almost never be interpreted literally. Not precognitive. Dreams of death of a friend or family member usually symbolize change in the relationship or a fear of separation. Death can be literal when we dream of relatives who have passed on. Dreaming of your own death typically symbolizes an inner metamorphosis and an evolution of development, and is considered a positive dream. Old ways of perceiving are passing away; new self-discoveries are being made.

I just read your other question, and even though I'm not a therapist, I think your subconsious is telling you the same thing you keep telling yourself: YOU NEED TO GET OUT. You need to talk to someone you know and trust, and maybe even a group therapy thing with people who are going through the same thing. If he is brainwashing you, at least you know he is and it will make it easier to keep it from happening. You just need to figure out a way for you and your cats to be safe and this is probably what your dream is reminding you. Its telling you that you know what you need to do and its a "friendly reminder" that you need to go ahead and do it. NOW.

Seems agression equals "killling", i see it as a way to say you want to "break up" or "kill" the relation with him. If he is agressive and then joke you need advise, even if there are jokes around you never know when he may be serious about something, do something now that you can maybe your dream has some facts.....dont wait

The next step from verbal aggression is physical aggression. Perhaps your subconscious is warning you that you are heading for a dangerous situation.

leave before you fall too much in love and the violence becomes too dangerous. if you leave now their will be less chance of the abuse being physical. its pretty clear that he scares you because he gives u nightmares you may regret leaving him but get out NOW before it becomes too serious
