Allow me to turn that question back on you.
Naturally you would assume that your partner isn't satisfied with something(s) about you and thinks you are in some way inferior.
Now- if you happen to be a slob, or oafish, or repugnant in some way- you need a damn good make over.
But for now, lets assume you're "normal" (what ever that is or means). I'd ask her what the hell she's playing at and then challenge her to justify why I shouldn't dump her there and then.

My G/F kind of said that to me not long after we got together. we have known each other for about 12 years. I have always been a T shirt and jeans or shorts kind of guy. I never wore any jewelry or cologne. IF she wants me to dress a little nicer when we go out it's fine with me. On my birthday she went all out clothes, aftershave, cologne. I like it. I am still me but when we go out or to church I dress nice. I love her and she never tried to change who I am. We are getting married in July.

My last girlfriend 'upgraded' my fasion, but it was with my consent, and almost at my request. You see, I suffer from fasion retardation. I used to dress very plainly, and I still do, reletively speaking.
But I would never want to 'upgrade' to high class clothes like that. I'd rather wear a cardbord box. :p

"Cold beer, Hot wing, wranglers, Skoal ring....git jus what you see. Gun rack, ball cap, don't take no crap. Ain't your pretty boy toy. I'll rock you steady. Rough and Ready!" Line out og a Trace Adkins song......Men want the same thing women want....I partner who likes them for who they are, not someone who wants to change them. I DON't listen to Beyonce, so I don't know the song....but it sounds bad to me.

Actually that is female instinct, but I would think males would find it pretty rude, that she was saying he wasn't good enough the way he was.
