At church last night a friend ask us to pray for her nephew who's 3 weeks old premature(2 months) twins both died of sids at the same time, the mother had them is their own cribs woke up in the morning to check on them and they were both dead, It was said she hasn't cried a tear maybe it hasn't hit her yet. Does this really seem possible? For them both to die at the same time from sids? The coronors report due back tomorrow, but says no foul play.

That is just simply awful. It doesn't seem possible, but only God and if someone else did it know for sure. Twin connection is suppose to be a very strong link. God bless their little souls.

I will pray for them too. Regardless of how they died or who was responsible, the other family members need the prayers.
Now my opinion: It seems very strange, and just because the coronor's report says no foul play doesn't mean that someone might not be responsible. SIDS is very hard to prove/disprove. Here is a site with a whole lot more information on SIDS: http://sids-network.org/

Im sure its possiable. Not likely but possiable. It is very hard to determine what happens when babies die inless there ahs been some other influences that are obvious. It is too common that when babies die the easiest thing to say is that it was SIDS because it happens too often. But, in many cases foul play is a factor. Sometimes mothers will get too overwhelmed by the idea of multiple babies and also, that they were premies. So, your concerns might be rightfully there.

Never heard of that case. I knew of a set of twins and one of them died the same day of the baby shower. It was horrible. The surviving twin is now a teenager. But freaky things do happen. I hope the mom didn't suffer from post-partum depression. I hate to suggest anything else. She may not have cried because some women it takes a while to have that bond. Even though I was protective of my son when he was born, I didn't feel really bonded to him until a few months later.

I don't think a 3 week old baby who was born 2 months premature would be at home yet they would still be in the NICU maybe they told you the wrong age. My twins were born 12 weeks early and were in the NICU one for 95 days and one for 122 days. I guess it is possible twins and preemies have a much higher risk for SIDS that's why they usually send them home with a breathing monitor. This story is very very sad I can't even imagine loosing 2 children in one day. I will be sure and keep her in my prayers.

Thats awul......Possible.....I dont know.
As for the mom not shedding a tear, people handle shock differently, like you said, maybe it hasnt hit her yet. I dont think people should be so quick to point fingers though.....rather wait for the results instead of speculation. Maybe they did both die of SIDS. Life and death is in Gods hands hun....

Twins do have a connection but that seems a bit odd. Please do pray for your friend and go spend time with her although she might be too lost to notice you are there, I dont remember anything for months after my daughter died of sids, but I know people were there with me.

Oh good grief! How terrible, whether there was foul play or not, that poor person is going to be scarred for life. Circumstances sound strange, but I don't know much about sids, so can't really say.

Very unlikely. I think that the autopsy reports will actually give a better clue as to SIDS or not, but until that report is handed over, no one actually knows, so it's better not to gossip.

That's just horrible. It does seem odd that that would happen to the both of them in the same night, but anything is possible. I'm sorry for her loss.
