just because it helps you to get closer to something you want to become? I don't regret what I've been doing - it helped me grow - but it's so hard and just no fun!

sort of like the rest .... YES ..... but NOT if doing this 'stuff' is totally consuming, bringing you (and therfore others around you) down and generally making you a 'worse' person then surley nothing is worth that. (especially if it's just to get a fee quid more at the end of the month)

Yes it is. If you are passionate about the bigger picture, walking through into your future fully armed with as much knowledge about what you are desiring to achieve, then anything, is worth it.

From past experience, back at that time I used to wonder what the point of all of this was, whatever I was doing at that time. Some things seemed so menial and routine, yet I did not realise I was being 'trained' in life school, on how to present routine as a Mother. Children thrive on it, I do not. I am a rule breaker...yet I have to make them myself...they are simply called boundaries.

Many other valuables are areas of work, maybe not related to our bigger picture, however useless at the time it may seem, it always amazes me how many times I have been able to task something or know what to do because of learning earlier on, something I thought was boring and tedious and could be doing something else more worthwhile.

Mathmatics I thought useless...use a calculator!
Today I am a Numerologist.....see? and I learn't that at school...math that is lol.

English I thought, I can speak it, read it, understand black and white text. Why write essay after essay? Today I am writing my own book....a childhood dream, that nudged me later in life.

Cooking: ha ....obvious!
Sewing?:hmm today its cheaper to buy clothes

Metalwork: I know what a souldering iron is and the difference in metals and their purposes, today I about to make jewellery and start engraving gemstones and soulder same.

Ultimately everything you learn becomes a life tool and you never know when you will be called upon to use them.

I spent 16 months studying midwifery, I hated everyday of it & cried more in that time than I had over my entire life [a further 23 years]. I would spend most of my days off at the pub. I knew when I was going into it that I would not enjoy it, but did not anticipate that it would be as bad as it was. I don't regret doing it, given the time over I would do it again because it will eventually get me my dream job. Altruistically speaking, if you are forcing youself to do something that you don't enjoy for the sake of someone you love...then hell yes, it is worth it. I am sure they make sacrifices for you from time to time, so return the favour! We all need to try new things, & we may just find that something we thought we would not enjoy, isn't so bad after all.

If its something you really want to do but getting there is the boring and/or the hard part I'd definitely say it was worth it, because eventually when you get to the thing you really want you'll be happy and realise the rubbish-y stuff was all worth it!

Unfortunatelly, life is not always fun. And in order to achieve some results we have to do things we do not really enjoy:(
In ideal world we would be get paid for the stuff we love doing, but in real life we usually pay for the things we enjoy:))

Heck yeah, it's worth it. Most things that are worth having usually has an unpleasant component to it-but when you reach your goal you are very satisfied. People go through decades of schooling to have their dream career. However, if you are sleeping with your boss to get a promotion, that's just wrong. :-)

It depends on what you are forcing yourself to do. If the end is a positive end, then yeah. I don't like excersing, but have lost 20 lbs.

If you are happy with what you are doing right now, learn how to love it then it will be fun.
Know your purpose.
Know why you are doing this stuff.
Everything will become fun if you know and you love what you are doing.

keep your eyes focused on the prize...I hate excersising in the fall, actually I only have running shoes now, and I don't want to run, but I know it is better for me and I will benefit from it when ski season starts, same with school and work.
