I hate labels! I have noticed some companies are now starting to print labels instead of sewing them in. Great idea! You must have cut your labels out and that leave scratchy remains. You have to get a 'seam ripper' and pick each thread out - remove the entire label. Tedious and sometimes you can accidently cut the garment. So, be very careful.

Could you not just leave the label in?
Are you removing all of the label? The only thing I can think is that
you are leaving bits of the label in and thats whats irritating you. Hmmm try rubbing the area of clothing with a candle, maybe the wax will give it a smooth surface, but this could rot your clothes I have no idea what I'm talking about = P

The best way is to undo the stitching and completely remove the label. If you don't have time or don't want to bother with this, I sometimes use clear fingernail polish and just cover whatevers left of the label. This might not work on all fabrics, but it helps to seal the edges.

A little left over label is VERY scratchy, try to unpick the stitching that was holding the label onto the clothing.

There is nothing more annoying. The only thing I can suggest is you cut as close into the material as you can or if the stitching that holds the label on is easy to see then un-pick it.

Keep the labels and throw away the clothing.

Have you removed them by fully unpicking the stitching, or did you cut them out leaving the irritating ends and thready bits?

I would have thought that unpicking the entire label stitching would be the answer.

I know the problem well. What I do is stick a sticking plaster over the remains of the label. Works for me.
