He shows he has a big future. He looks too young yet to get the support of enough people. Let him wait a while.

Interesting idea.
The last time a charismatic one term senator became president was JFK. I think he has a fair shot in '08 but an excellent shot in 2012.
OK, Let me amend my answer: I just watched an interview with Obama by Charlie Rose and damn, he's impressive. Knowing that even some conservatives respect him plus his straight talk...Yes, I do think he could win the presidency in 2006 by (dare I say) a landslide.

Longshot at best, but a damn good replacement for Hillary, because she's an even bigger longshot. The biggest question about Obama is we all know he has a velvet tongue, and that he can articulate with the best of them. Perhaps he's the ideal candidate for the job of secretary of state. Now here's a guy that could improve world opinion of the US. As president, I would be concerned that he doesn't have the stones to make those hard decisions. Like,do we nuke N.Korea?

I'd vote for him in a heartbeat. If he runs in '08, '12 or '16.
The fact that there are actually people who wouldn't vote for him simply because he's a Democrat, kinda makes me sad... Sad that these people can't see beyond their own noses.

He has even less of a record than John Edwards. I'd say he's far from having proven himself as qualified. Maybe he will, someday.

I hate to say it, but He is black. Therefore most americans won't vote for him.
Personally I would love to see him as president, the trouble is, how do you get the KKK to see that.

YES BUT NOT UNTIL 2016. FIRST HE'S GONNA BE HILLARY'S RUNNING MATE AND BE VICE PRESIDENT FOR 2 TERMS 2008-2016...THEN HE'LL BE MORE MATURE AND READY TO BECOME OUR FIRST BLACK PRESIDENT!

There are alot of us who have mentioned it. But, we need time to really check him out, see how his politics and viewpoints go, and see what being active in politics does to him. It does often change people.
But, he is a young man------------------we have the time.

I agree with Leah. All I have learned about him - and he's on TV 10 times a day - is that he's personable and has a nice smile.
When are we going to learn how he stands on "the issues?"
