FOX just sucks.
I wish that MLB would let the local markets broadcast the games as usual as well. It would be great to watch the Mets with the best play by play man in the business, Gary Cohen.
I am sure the Detroit and St. Louis people would agree that they like ther home town announcers as well. It would also increase revenue for the teams and league, selling two sets of commercials. Here in NY, SNY would crush FOX in the ratings, and show MLB that the fans want their home people, who really know the teams doing their jobs.

Jeannie Zelasko is pretty bad, but she's not talking during the actual game so I tend to just have the TV on mute and leave the room until the game starts. Steve Lyons has been my mortal enemy the past few years and I am eternally grateful that he was given the axe. No one cares about your anecdotal stories about how you sucked as a player. No one needs to hear your low-grade amateur night stand-up routine. Shut Up! Fox is pretty bad overall, between the never ending barrage of exploding graphics and shred-guitar riffs. At least Steve Lyons is gone. He's baseball's equivalent to Bill Walton. When he's calling a game I put on a cd and put the TV on mute.

Jeanie Zeleasko is horrible...why can't they find a retired manager or ball player to do that little gig she's doing? At least then you'd get the feeling they had an idea what they were talking about.
But for me..as far as Fox announcers go...I get annoyed with Tim McCarver's little stories and rants about things...he has some whacked out ideas....he'll say something like... "well you know when I was a player we didn't have all that high tech armor these kids nowadays have...we had to use left over Bunny Bread from the sandwhich rack on the bus..hahahaha...and let me tell you, that wasn't very fun or comforting...especially with a hungry Don Baylor in the dugout...hahahahaa....." and then Joe Buck will go, "oh yeah...well look there's Matt Damon enjoying a hot dog with the Mayor and Queen of England...well that's strike two and theres PeeWee Herman..: then McCarver cuts it and says " hey did you hear about Madanno adopting a kid from Africa...." Joe buck..."speaking of Africans....here's Preston Wilson who hasn't played much this series...preston is the step son of Mookie Wilson....:"
ok so I went on a little to long but that was fun for me....
At anyrate I'd still take the Fox Broadcasting team over Joe Morgan and that annoying bald dude on ESPN. I can only stand to listen to Joe Morgan talk about Barry Bonds for so long. Then you have to watch TIm Kurkgin and Peter Gammons retract half of their predictions so they can say I told ya so....

Georgie Worgie Porgie... just a guess here, but do "Dan Dickerson & Jim Price" broadcast Tigers games? Zero bias there, right?
But to answer the question, how about Steve Lyons, the former FOX Sports commentator... forget the mute button, I wanted to kick the TV! But I didnt... it's a $2500 LCD :)

Over here in Asia on ESPN, we have the absolutely delightfully horrible Rick Sutcliffe. What a load of crap he is. With his sing songy voice and his bull and fake statistics, he is without a doubt the worst announcer since Harry Carey was in the last years of his career with the Cubs. (Steve Stone gets a Big Gold Star in heaven for helping Harry through those last dementia and alcohol driven years.) Anyway, Sutcliffe makes John Sterling look like Vic Scully.

I HATE JOE BUCK,
JOE BUCK SUCKS
he is only there because of his dad who was a wonderful man and really pioneered that art of announcing. He is not his father and i wish that someone would pull him off of his fathers coattails ad let him do something on his own for once and not have everything given to him

Tim McCarver gets my goat. I would rather read the closed captioning than listen to him talk to us like we're all fools who
don't know the first thing about Baseball and he's the F*#King
Genius.
