FAITH! Faith is probably the hardest thing for people to have. For you to believe and do what is said in the bible you have to have faith. Unfortunatly people don't believe in the bible's teachings because they cannot see God. Since they cannot see God he does not exists. They cannot rely on faith. Its kind of like air, you can't see it or touch it but you know its there. Thank God for Jesus and air. God Bless

Well, your question (aside from seeming a bit rhetorical) is difficult to answer . . .i know many people, but you're asking about that nonexistent "They" of "They say . . . " and "They've found . . ." You imply that this is a united group, but there's no evidence whatsoever that the entire population of the world is anything but several billion discrete personalities reasoning things out for themselves.
I can only say that not everyone believes that the Bible is the word of God--some people don't believe there is a God. I can only speak for myself, and personally, I just don't see how the bible is different from any other piece of didactic literature. Doesn't it seem like the original Wikipedia? People wrote it, people translated what was written, people interpreted and rewrote it; church leaders had meetings to take books out, to include new books, to officially sanction some and let others fall into obscurity. There might be some truth to be found, but you have to dig deep beneath the layers of human intervention.

Because the bible can not be proved to be anything other than the work of fiction. Where it does have some good guidelines for social behavior, the concept of an all knowing and seeing entity is just too far fetched. Too much of it is left to interpretation.

The Bible can be interpreted in many different ways (just look at all the competing forms of Christianity). People may believe it in very different ways too. So what it actually "teaches" is forever being debated.

Then they don't have to believe they will be held accountable for their actions. Many people today believe it is out dated, but if you actually read it and understand it, you would know that everything that is happening today can be found in the Bible and it can help us with our lives today.

Because the bible is bigotted homophobic, sexist and also has many good moral lessons intertwined.
My favorite quote from the New Testament, that many Christians don't seem to pay attention to is "Judge not least yee be judged".

the bible is spiritually discerned and can only be understood corectly by those in the spirit. but why do people beleive in the other things, because ether they want to be like every one else or they want to be different, one way or the other, they are likely to be lost
