It is an uninstall file. Whenever you add a program to your computer, it adds an uninstall file with a list of what files were added to your computer when you installed the program. When you go into the control panel and click the add or remove programs and tell it to uninstall a program, it uses that file to know what files and registry entries to uninstall. If you delete that file from your computer, you will not be able to uninstall the associated program from your computer.
