It is clear that the models of love from the last century are not keeping up with society as a whole, i.e. gay marriage, divorce, single parents, etc. In this century, is it ok for marrieds to have a boyfriend or girlfriend (either platonic or romantic)? Why or why not?

There's nothing wrong with having platonic friends of the opposite sex, as long as they are strictly platonic and your spouse approves of them. Obviously, "romantic" is crossing the line and that's a no-no.

I have been with someone for six years and I have friends of the opposite sex, he trusts me and loves me and knows that I love him. As long as it is a Platonic relationship there is nothing to worry about. However, a romantic relationship with someone else while you are married is just wrong. You committed to be faithful to this person and therefore you should keep your vow.

I think it is ok, but like you said in this day in age there are more dishonest people. There is always a line that should not be crossed with friends of the opposite sex. Personally, I think it is unnecessary to have dinner alone with that friend and stuff along those lines.

It is ok to have friends of the oppisite sex as long as it is ok with your partner and as long as you don't cross the line!

No -- in a "dream" world -- this would work -- however, in the "real" world temptations are everywhere ---
