If your period is suppose too come for ex: Oct. 20 you could take the first response 5 days prior to that and you should get an accurate result. This happened to me I knew I was pregnant and I took the first response test without missing a period and I got a positive result.
I did goto the doctors office to take the blood test and it was positive. So I am now 35 weeks pregnant now... Good Luck!!!

It worries me to see all these woman asking all of these basic questions about their bodies and their cycles….and then getting all these different answers – and usually most of these answers are WRONG!
This is my standard answer......... go get a book called Taking Charge of your fertility by Toni Weschler
This book will help you with all of your menstrual and conception questions. It’s for all women - not just women trying to conceive. It covers everything from temperature to mucus checking, etc.. It will help you understand your body and all the myths about it. It will help you time when you are ovulating and the best times to conceive – or not! It tells you how to figure out your cycle and what to expect. My husband and I tried for a year to conceive and nothing happened. The first month I used the book we conceived right away. Now I am due Feb 2. It's about knowing your body and knowing when you are fertile or not. You can pick and choose what you do with your info. Good luck and don't listen the all the myths!

That's been almost a month ago so I think that it's not early at all. Let him go out of town and try to relax because if you stress yourself out over this you might loose the baby or if youre not you might not get pregnant because of stress. If you really want to know before he leaves Go to the doctor before he leaves and let them take a blood test. Thats the only acurate early pregnancy test right now.

I think that it may be possible to get a blood test. Especially if you're on a 28 day cycle, you should get your period the 22nd. It would be more accurate and more chance of finding out sooner.
GOOD LUCK!

First calm down a bit or you won't be doing anyone any good. From general period maths, I'd say that if you're going to be pregnant this month, then you already are. A test should therefore work (as well as they ever do).

Here is what I would do. Go to the doctor and have the blood test. Sounds like you are pregnant. It also sounds like you are about to have your period. The blood test at the MD is accurate to 11 days after conception.

its depends when you ovulate I can't tell until 10 days after my period was due... if you ovulate two weeks before your period ( which is average) you will be testing 1 day early so there is a 83% chance it will be correct. good luck .. when he finds out he can always come back write?? where is he going and for how long??
