Sorry but I meant to ask about the province yesterday. A couple people thought I meant the dog. The big dog is just a Newfoundland dog. I don't think there is a dog called a Newfoundland Labrador. Sorry about the confusion.

The province recently changed its name again to "Newfoundland Labrador." They took out the "and" this time.

The name of the province was changed a few years ago for "Newfoundland" to "Newfoundland and Labrador."

It is a beautifu, wonderful place, with friendly people, rugged coastlines, and lots of moose. I've only been up and down the west cost, and over to southern Labrador, but I loved it; it's highly recommended.

A lot of places make their tourist propaganda make a place seem more beautiful than it is, by only overemphasizing a few highlights... it's just the opposite up there. Any websites you've seen of the place are an understatement, bigtime.

It is remote; don't expect McDonalds or the usual roadside crap. Don't expect perfect roads, and above all, WATCH OUT FOR MOOSE crossing! I saw about 10 over the course of four days; avoid driving at night (I did it; with caution, you're okay).

A beautiful place to visit, but it suffers from chronic unemployment (you don't specify living vs. visiting).

It can also be cool and drizzly, even in summer, but the weather changes frequently, and the nice is more than worth the drizzle.

Well, if a Newfoundland linked up with a black lab, in principle you could have a new breed or at least cross breed.

Newfoundland Labrador is one of the few places in Canada I have not been. I had a trip planned to go to Labrador City but I had to cancel it. I was surprised one could drive to Labrador at all. I want to see Newfoundland, but the ferries are long and my wife gets seasick easily. But in the future I will make it probably by flying.

My visit to PEI and Nova Scotia surprised me because of how different the two places are. PEI is like being in the twilight zone because it is so different. We loved it. So, I'm looking forward to a visit to Newfoundland Labrador and will form an opinion after my visit.

The other place in Canada that I've not been is the new territory north of Quebec which I never remember the name of. Strangely, I have been to Inuvik in the NWT but not to Yellowknife.

Newfoundland is the most beautiful province in Canada as far as scenery and unspoiled places to visit. Of the parts of Newfoundland to visit, I highly recommend taking the Gros Mourne boat tour and seeing "the man in the mountain" between Corner Brook and Pasenda.

Newfoundland and Labrador are one of the most scenic and pristine lands in Canada. Oh I know those folks in BC seem to think they have the monopoly on nature, but NL is truly a rugged and serene at the same time.

The people are very welcoming and warm. I just hope that oil does not change their way of life.
