In the campus newspaper there are reports weekly of people getting there cars broken into to steal books and purses. Campus security always says don’t leave your books out because people who can’t afford them steal them or they steal them and sell them back to the bookstore. Yet walking through the parking lot I see doors that are obviously unlocked, text books in plain site on front seats and purses and book bags thrown in the back. These people are just asking to be victims don’t you think. I always keep my stuff in the trunk and I double and triple check to see if my doors are locked.

OOPS ! you just told the bad guys that your things are in the trunk .
I do agree though I sometimes forget to lock my front door when I am home too . My husband says I'm careless , but growing up we never had to and I never think about the bad guys , thanks for the reminder !
