Biological contains enzymes which are live in their cleaning action. They are the best at cleaning but the worst for the environment. They are responsible for mutating fish.
Non- biological are chemical based cleaners and are harmful to the environment but not so much as biological.
If you want a clean conscience use cleaners with plant based derivatives that break down easily in water or use a lemon!

Biological powder uses oxygen to remove dirt. It is more abbrasive to your clothes and can irritate sensitive skin as surprise surprise, oxygen is an oxydising agent.
Non biological powder doesn't use oxygen to remove dirt and isn't as efficient at doing the job.
