The only thing i know about renaissance style has to do with Art and Artists. The renaissance occurred in Europe(Italy France etc) about 800 years ago, it lasted about 500 years.( My facts could be wrong i haven't done art history in two or three years.) But the point of it was that the renaissance means "Re-Birth". This is the era where all the best artistic pieces of work came out. The furniture you are talking about could be the type of furniture from that era. Or i could be completely wrong. Just though I'd had what i know.

The Renaissance starts at the start of the 1300s extending to the 1500s. It was a rediscovery and active imitation of ancient Roman art, architecture, and literature.

The early Renaissance style shows its Gothic antecedents, especially in Florence's city hall, and in the Milan Cathedral. The later style more consciously imitated ancient Roman buildings in style. At its most monumental, it has a certain ponderousness to its grandeur.

It is succeeded in Italy by Mannerism, and then by Baroque style more ornamented (and even flamboyant) form.
