I think because when people view porn they view it as fantasy... not real. For some reason there is a separation. However, it would be all too real if it were your own child.

If my daughter or son wants to go into that industry, that is their decision. As if were any other profession. Sure I'd want better for them, but I can say the same if they were flipping burgers at McDonald's. I can't decide my children's future for them, so all I can do is be supportive. Everyone has to do what they can to survive in this world, and if they're happy with what they are doing, then I'm ok with it.

What you have here, my friend, is one of the countless battles of culture (civilization) versus reality. Today, as you meet or see males over the age of 16, bear in mind that statistically the vast majority of them watch/look at/listen to porn of some type. That's the reality. But culture frowns on it, so they will never admit it. It's the same as with religion, marriage, politics, etc. Everyone talks about being religious and attending services, but if you actually go and watch, only the fewest of people are not rushing to leave when services are done. Look at Foley - and his Page activities - the same phenomenon. Marriage vows - come on! Again, they are said to appeal to cultural values, NOT the reality of what we are as a species. (Don't shoot me - I'm only the messenger. I am defying culture to make these 'unpleasant' statements, but they are, nevertheless, accurate.)

Double standards maybe. I wouldn't be real happy that our daughter was a porn star, but if that is what she wanted to do then there really isn't alot we can do to stop her.

Some people are so wrapped up in themselves and their needs that they honestly don't care about their kids or how their kids are behaving. Ever hear of Hugh Hefner? His poor daughter is so screwed up and sad, but does he care? Heck no! He's getting his and that's all that matters. We live in a sad, pathetic society. I'm not okay with pornography, it exploits women and destroys families. It isn't just all about you, guys! It affects everyone!

I have no children, but I know from experience that you can't tell your kids what to do when they are adults.I feel alot of women have joined the sex industry because they were either neglected or abused by their parents. There are always underlying issues.
