Yes, although they do a good job of hiding that. McCarver played for the Cards and Buck's dad announced for them and he announces for them still. They also both helped write a book on the greatest Cardinals ever. Joe Buck is the best broadcaster in the game today, he's professional about it but yeah he's rooting for the Cards. Just like Peter Gammons roots for the Red Sox. Like Joe Morgan for the Reds, like Jon Miller for the Giants and so on...

I don't think they are openly rooting for the Cardinals. Honestly, as a Cardinal fan I've often wondered where their enthusiam is for the Cardinals. They've done a pretty good job of covering up their emotions when the Cardinals do good or get into an exciting situation. I've heard just as much emotion from Buck when the Mets or any other team does something as I've heard from him when he covered the Cardinals before going national.

Everyone knows that Joe Bucks dad was Jack Buck the long time Cardinal broadcaster and that Joe grew up in St. Louis and around the Cardinals and advanced his career through them. And most know that McCarver spent a better part of his career playing for the Cardinals and enjoyed most of his success there....so I think there is something in the subconcious going... these guys are rooting for the Cardinals....maybe secretly they are but they get paid to broadcast the game unbiasly and so far they've done that....they may not have done a good job broadcasting it...but they haven't rooted for the Cardinals or said anything slanted towards the Mets.

I guess we'll just have to wait for the World Series and see if we can tell whether or not they're rooting for the Cardinals or the Tigers! LOL.

I do have one comment though....why do folks have to take a harmless baseball question and bring politics and crap into it? I'm sure there is another section that could be poluted with a liberal versus conservative rant. I don't like Fox News all that much either but then I don't like the slant CNN has....there's no good in between.....nothing that is really fair and balanced..but this isn't the place for that

It's sad. FOX is just an awful network. Their "news" is so slanted to the right wing that reality takes a back seat. Their Sports coverage is just plain bad, Buck is so bad that I can barely enjoy the game, what-ever game he is covering, it doesn't matter.

Maybe I am overly critical because the Mets have the best baseball play by play man in the business, Gary Cohen, for their TV broadcasts. On a side note, Gary has been offered a national gig in the past and turned it down, great for Met fans, bad for the rest of baseball fans.As far as he is concerned he has his dream job.

Well I'm from ST. LOUIS, and I think just the opposite both of those guys are so scared of pissing off the media in NY. side note -McCarver is still pissed about the Cards trading him,And Joe Buck is just a spoiled little JERK

considering Tim McCarver played and won World Series rings for the Cards, and Joe Bucks father, the late Jack Buck was Cards play by play announcer for a hundred years. I think they are probably somewhat biased.

This question has been posted numerous times so last night I really tried to pay attention and I never really did pick anything out that made it sound like they were for the Cards. I do agree that Fox is screwing up a lot of sports coverage and not just baseball.

Its pretty obvious that they are. It just proves what a horrible TV network that FOX is. Aside from the fact that they're rooting for St. Louis, they're both just idiots if you ask me.

I'm a die hard Mets fan and this couldnt piss me off more.

of course they are since both have comnections to the team, and it musta been painful for them to see the Cards get swept in 2004 by my Red Friggin Sox!
