Love is a profound feeling of tender affection for or intense attraction to another. It is considered a deep, ineffable feeling shared in passionate or intimate interpersonal relationships. However, in different contexts, the word love has a variety of related but distinct meanings: in addition to romantic love, which is characterized by a mix of emotional and sexual desire, other forms include Platonic love, religious love, familial love, and the more casual application of the term to anyone or anything that one considers strongly pleasurable, enjoyable, or desirable, including activities and foods. This diverse range of meanings in a single word is commonly contrasted with the plurality of Greek words for love, reflecting the word's versatility and complexity.
Although clearly and consistently defining love is a difficult task, and often a subject of much debate, different aspects of the word can be clarified by determining what isn't "love". As a general expression of positive sentiment (a stronger form of like), love is commonly contrasted with hate (or neutral apathy); as a less sexual and more "pure" form of romantic attachment, love is commonly contrasted with lust; and as an interpersonal relationship with romantic overtones, love is commonly contrasted with friendship, though other definitions of the word love may be applied to close friendships in certain contexts.

People fall in love for nothing (or everything). It's something like matrix, that is, "Unfortunately no one can be told what love is, you have to feel it for yourself".
Caution! Love is one of the rarest thing to happen. most of the love stories that you see around you are compromise of some kind. I think (I'm not sure) true love would never ask of any sort of compromise from either side.

People fall in love because we all need somebody in our corner. Love is the feeling I get when I look at my wife, and I know I would rather spend the worst day of my life with her, than the best day with anybody else. Love is the reason an ex-player (like me) would choose one woman over all the rest he has had in his life.

People fall in love when they meet a person who is in the category of acceptable partner. Visual, auditory and chemical stimulus produces a feel good effect. Positive chemical changes in the brain causes a feeling of elation. The effect dies down if subsequent inputs are unfavourable.

love is so undescribable. it's something that you feel very strong about but it's really hard to explain. People fall in love because they care about that other person but love can easily be mistaken for somthing its not. like a crush which is simply a form of attraction to someone else. love causes happiness and pain."grab it from the dish before someone else wants it"

Love is a feeling for other & try to be together, help each other. Though type varies, everybody love other. Like you love your mother in different way than your father, sister, etc. It is universally true for all including animals.
If you want to mean something narrow of a narrow minded person, it is narrowness of his mind. Then it is ugly and it is a desire for things like sex, materials, etc, etc.
