I need advice regarding job hunting.?

I work in the legal field (I am not an attorney) I had several jobs in 3 law offices. My first job I resigned in 9 months of my employment. My second job I resigned in 8-9 months and I have 7 months at my current job . My resume speaks for itself, I have good experience but shows that I am not stable at one job. I really want to find a good firm to work for and make it a career starting off as an entry level paralegal. I am a hardworker and a quick learner. I am going to school to get certified as a paralegal. I am not happy at my current job because I over qualify for the position I took which is a receptionist. Its fustrating for me because I feel I can do more. I dont know if by looking now I am just wasting my time, plus this job doesnt have good benefits and there is favoritism at the office but not with me. I really need some advice I know employers would toss my resume if I were to start job hunting, I was thinking on waiting till January of 2007. What can I do to fix my resume?

It would be best to stay where you are until you finish school. People do not like to hire people who jump around from job to job. At this point in your life, all the jobs are the same until you finish your education. Relax, take the opportunity to learn how the office is run, if you are caught up, let the others know that you can help out without it interfering with your present job.

What you feel like you can do more and what your employeers think may be two different things. You may feel you are over qualified, but to them you may not be. Stay where you are. Learn. Build up a good work ethic where you are. Don't complain. Always volunteer. Be cheerful. Do a good job. Finish school.

I would stay in your current job for a year. Since you have resigned twice already, employers need to know you can commit to at least a year in a job. I think that a year is enough to decide whether you can stand it or have any career growth.

I myself stayed a little over a year than changed jobs..I am at my current job for 1.5 years and I am looking again..but I do not plan to resign until I find a new job or stay here 2 years. Some HR people are very picky and will not even look at your resume if you have had too many jobs in a certain timespan. Continue to go to school and you should be able to find a paralegal job after you graduate. Best of luck.

first be honest with yourself and write out why you resigned in each of your jobs. write out what it takes to se successful at the job you want using some people you respected in your profession. write out what your ideal job is. look between the answers to see where they match and where you don't fit. This will give you an idea how to answer questions about why you left and what jobs to take. In your resume don;t use dates but list skills you have. Don't quit your present job but find one while you are still working. this shows some commitment. Good luck

Absolutely a piece of cake for you since you are a make up professional. Just do a makeup job on yourself as an African and get the advantage over any whites. Blacks do not have a difficulty finding jobs in South Africa, whether qualified or not.

Stick it out at this job for a longer period of time. I would not at all be impressed by 3 jobs with duration less than a year in a row...it says you (a) don't know what you want to do, (b) you don't know how to evaluate an employer, or (c) worse, you are a troublemaker.

A good start would be to suck it up and stay at your job. There's always a price to pay - you pay the price to win or you pay the price when you lose. You might as well be a winner.
