I got ripped off with a bit of jewellery a couple of years ago, said it was a certificated diamond set in gold, blah blah, needed a magnifying glass to see it, and couldnt get money back, nothing

New with tags gypsy skirt & top for my 3 year old. I paid 12.99 for the set and it looked lovely in the picture. It was discribed as 'beautiful girls pink designer 2 piece set'.
When it arrived it was packed in a tesco bag, the top had like dirty foot print marks on the sleeve and it smelt of smoke.
I put it in the wash on 40 degrees and when finished washing I took it out of the machine to dry and noticed the skirt had come apart at the sem's & was all frayed...
I contacted the seller who said I must of washed it on a high setting and caused the damage myself...he refused to refund the money.. It wasnt till after I read his feedback score, he did not have a very good track record only 90%!!!
That was the only bad case I have had, so if I do buy anything via ebay I always check feedback first and if it is below 99% i will not purchase from them!!!

My story involves the worst and best thing I've ever bought. I paid $80 for a life size cardboard figure of Dale Earnhardt Jr. It took months to get here. The lady I purchased it from kept giving me the run around. She insisted it kept getting sent back to her but her stories didn't make any sense. I finally told her I wanted my money back. Suddenly it arrived! But it was not in good condition at all. I was so diappointed. I had been so excited and I had spent a great deal of money. But I still loved it. It stood in my room for just under a year until it finally fell apart to the point that we had to get rid of it. It was not in great shape when it got here and then my cats liked to play behind and it knocked it over so much that he bent into two pieces. :( I found others for sale on ebay but I'm not gonna bother going through that again.

I am almost always lucky with Ebay, especially clothing! Find amazing deals all the time.... Worst thing I bought was a beach towel, when it came it has half the size I Imagined and so thin it was like paper... Was only 1p though, although an identical one went on a previous auction for £11! Poor bidder...

I bought this lemon carnival glass that I needed to finish off my set,i asked for more pictures of the plate and there was no scratches on it,when i got it was filled with scratches and a chip
seller said was clean of scratches and chips, did not get my money back (i paid 46 bucks) and said i was wanting to change a good piece for a bad one that i had...that was the last time I bought from eBay or anything on line, needless to say i tossed out the glass and bought it at a store for twice that price, a very expensive piece to finish off my set

A LaLa teletubbies cushion for about £3.50. It was horribly hard and the cover was faded but my little one likes it so it's still around.
I bought a clothes bundle once for about a tenner. It ended up being used as painting and garden clothes.
But the real worst was a pair of Timberland. Paid about £60 for them. The were so bad i thought they were fakes (loose stitching and really crap soles) so i sent them to Timberland to verify. They sent them back saying the were genuine and were kind enough to get rid of the loose stitching!
I only bought them because i had had them before and i always had thought of them as quality. Not anymore so, never in my life will i buy another Timberland product.

I brought what looked and sounded like a good deal it was a safety vest (swimming) for my son, I paid £15.00 inc p&p and left feedback saying how great it was b4 I saw it and now wish I hadn’t, it was a cheap plastic one that I could have picked up myself for a fiver (the description looked like a proper Speedo one with removable polystyrene floats) the problem was because it looked so good the next day I brought another one so now I have two nasty floats worth no more that a tenner and they cost me £30.00!
Lesson learnt don’t leave feedback until you have inspected everything properly

a plated silver note book cover that was engraved for a Christmas present for my father- but when it arrived, it was nicely engraved, but the size of a match box! I sold it on to someone else - who collected minature things. I find ebay a rip off unless your selling -I have sold loads of stuff before we moved house. But I don't buy anything - I can get better from the shops.

Great question
I used ebay as every one adviced me it would be best. So as trusting as i am i went there and bought my son a go-cart. Looked lovely red his favourite colour. When it arrived it only had three wheels, I can't return it. Yes i have tried the local shops for a wheel. My fault silly me
