No offence meant, but I am going to put it simply, it's easier for me to explain it that way.
Imagine an insect on top of a pumpkin and you crouched down with your face just above it. Now you move and look at the insect from the side of the pumpkin, but still your face is about the same distance from the surface of the pumpkin as when you were peering down from above.
The distance is greater, so it is when you are looking at the sun which is low on the horizon compared with when it is above you.
Therefore, the amount of the earth's atmosphere which you are looking through is far greater and this has a dulling effect on the sun's light, hence it appears red. (When white heat dulls it becomes red). It also explains why you can look at a rising or setting sun without damaging the eyes

If u are 6th std then only read the A.
Sunlight is consists of many colours. These colours have different refraction capability. During morning and evening, when the SUN light pass through layers of air, red colour get refracted more. This separated red colour fall on white nature sky (consiats of air, particle, etc) and take the colour red.

Usually if it's red at night means the following day will be a nice one, usually a hot day. If red in the morning usually means some severe weather change is going to occur soon.

at sunset or sunrise the sun and its surrounding sky appears red because of scattering of light .the light from sun at sunset or sunrise travels a longer distance through the earth's atmosphere to reach our eyes.this light is deprived(lack) of blue colour due to scattering of blue light by the particles present in atmosphere &rich in red colour.sun appears red bcoz red colour is least sccatered

It is the angle that the sun is reflecting off of the atmosphere, much like a rainbow reflection.
