How is that so many men say that they respect women, but at the same time look at porn everyday?
A man may respect women when face to face. However, overall does it mean that any man who views porn does not have full respect?
It's clear that they are perfectly ok with objectifying women and treating them as objects, even if they are not the one directly responsible.
Why is it that one would be against someone sexual assaulting a female family member, or any female in general for that matter, but approve of the making of porn movies, strip clubs, hookers and so on? These women in the "porn industry" are all someone’s daughter, sister, niece, mother…. For all they know one of the persons they've been viewing in this discriminatory light may very well be a relative of their own.
How does a man draw the line… making it wrong one way but ok the other? (Interested in real answers from men & women.... research paper. THANKS)

I'm looking for the reasoning behind the moral issue regarding respect for women and how one justifies it to themselves.

I'm not sure how the line is drawn or the decision to view porn is justified. From what I'm reading, most men feel that it's the women's choice. However, at the same time, just because it's out there, doesn't mean that you have to look or approve.

I don't think that men don't respect women in the porn industry. It is a job that comes with all of the hooting and hollering, etc. Women in that industry know what goes with the territory.
I have respect for women that do dance etc.. I think it is a hard job. Always have to be in a good mood etc.. It is serving the public. Just like a cashier or a sale person. You could really write a very long paper. Pros and cons then interview some men. Go to a club and watch what really happens..
Justification is money and supporting themselves and family.
Don't even go into my childhood abused etc..

I watch porn too and that i'm a woman, so I accept as true with you. you at the instant are not hurting each individual or letting the porn effect you. some couples watch porn jointly to get grew to become on. i think of it extremely is whilst porn gets interior the way of your daily life, it turns right into a topic. no longer each porn viewer is such as you and that i. some naive visitors might initiate waiting for women folk to look like how they do in porn, or they might prefer porn to a actual sexual dating. some porn might nicely be degrading, yet there is a few that's no longer..there is even porn catered to females's tastes.

Have you ever been to a "strip club" if you have you would see that it is the women who are empowered, taking money from men who aren't going to get anything more than teased in return for their dollars. There is a certain kind of porn that at first I thought was degrading to the women involved but when I started talking to some of the women involved I found that they are happy and enjoy what they do, they like that kind of "action".
The sex industry is a way for many women to make good money that they wouldn't otherwise be able to get. I say if it works for them and is their decision, let them have the opportunity.

It really has nothing to do with respect. Men (and some women) watch porn for the sexual gratification. Porn is simply an adult movie. That's it. It's like any other movie. Is it disrespectful to women when she gets attacked in a horror movie? Its just plots. These women "act" in porns just like Sandra Bullock or Reese Witherspoon act in dramas or comedies. Its nothing offensive or disrespectful. You're talking about the double standard regarding men and respecting women, but in fact you're the one who doing the double standard. Any woman in any kind of movie is an actress, nothing else. Understand?

In most cases, being a porn star is a personal choice, in the hopes of making big money. It's is greed, not men who make these women subject "Themselves" to this form of treatment.

Your problem, Women that have pictures of them selves alanatural don't appear to be victims to me. I think they are showing that they are secure with themselves.
Granted some porn is pure raunch but still some women do it, it is their choice they are not "victims". Women that are chased by the Pavarotti and have unwanted ,unknowing pictures appear in tabloids are victims.
I don't look at beautiful women nude with nothing less than awe and respect and appreciation for brightening my day.

it can blur the line between fantasy and reality. looking at women that way in porn then seeing them in everyday life can make you think all women are sluts and always horny and always want it with anyone. to say that it is a way to find relief is wrong. looking at porn makes the need for relief.

well, men occasionally watch porn to relive our sexual desire, besides, those women in porn are usually the ones that willingly put themselves in,we didn't force them
