Of course she can! I have many platonic female friends (and I am 100% straight) in some ways these freindships are useful because you can get and give advice from the opposite genders point of view!
Platonic friendships can only cause problems if your partner takes exception to them, you can avoid this by making sure that the platonic nature of the friendship is always made clear.

Yes! I'm married, but I have some great friends that are guys. We've been friends for a long time, and we're very close, but there's a certain line and it stops there, you know. In a way, even if I wasn't married, I wouldn't want those deep friendships to go any farther. Cuz you know, once you start getting too close, or intimate, it adds a whole new dimension to things and it complicates things a whole lot more, you get emotional and stuff. But that's just my opinion. All that to say, guys make great friends. Sometimes even more than girls. Girls are great for shopping and stuff, but if I really want to talk to someone, I talk to my guy friends, cuz they don't like to gossip as much as we girls do...

Defiantly. I've had a really good guy friend for nearly 10 years, there is nothing romantic between us at all, we're both straight but just enjoy each other company that all. My partner is very excepting.

Yes, if he is gay. I truly believe that every man in the universe wants to sleep with a woman he's "friends" with. And if he says otherwise-- he's lying. Women can do it but not men.

Probably. Let's hope she had a good relationship with all the males in her childhood, and he with all females in his.
