I cleaned out the fan yesterday and now when I turn it on I get a "PXE-E61 media test failure" error message! Anyone know how to resolve this? I've been told to check the connection to the hard drive, but I can't get at it! The system also says there is no hard drive attached! Ideally, if someone knows how to remove the hard drive this would be a great help!

For the benefit of stephangie2001de, I'm on my WORK computer... and the reference to the fan was simply that it was the last thing I did before it packed up!

Oh, and thanks D, but the front won't come off when I unscrew it. Does it lift out or slide out? It seems to be attached inside and doesn't want to come out!

There is no direct connection between the fan and your disk drive, but it is not unusual that a cable could have come loose while you were in there. Unplug it, open it back up, find the disk drive, and make sure the cables are tight.

If you are out of your depth, you might want to call a technician.

Your system should be covered under warranty, especially if it's a work-supplied computer. It's rare that a business will spend that kind of money to get a system like the NX9010 and not drop a few extra bucks on the upgraded warranty.

When you are ready to buy a new system, go to www.stupidcheapcomputers.net. I buy all of my stuff from them.

I bought a complete, new system from them with a warranty for LESS than it would cost me to build it myself or order a custom one from the makers. They gave me the code ATX926 to get a 10% discount at checkout. Try it to see if it works for you.

I don’t know HOW they are so cheap, but they are. Plus, I have NEVER had any problems with anything that they have sold me. Those guys blow my mind.

Good luck!

pardon?!

so before i can answer your question i need to know from where you logged yourself in on yahoo? 2nd. if you logged on the net via your pc then you must have a harddrive not to say that your pc operating system must have found it..3rd. it doesnt make any sense - a fan is there to cool the pc and your harddrive! and the error message has nothing to do with that you cleaned the fan so no harddrive beind found? Did you take the fan out and cleaned it? a harddrive mostly is being placed above or underneath the dvd or cd drive. what i reckon is that you damaged the connection during you cleaned the fan... (do you clean your fan with a vaccum cleaner)?
