I had an abortion in july and i have been to the dr's recently and they have said that the hospital may have left some after birth in me and it may have stopped me from having my own babies in the future, can anyone help me in what to do , i went for blood tests this morning, i need some help, i am going for a scan next week and then i am having fertility tests ext week, :(

Why did you have the abortion in the first place?? I would go to the E.R and tell them what the doctor said so they can treat you A.S.A.P

I would think that would have caused an infection in your uterus. If they treat it with antibiotics and another D&C, this should not effect your fertility unless the infection has caused scar tissue to prevent an egg from clearing the fallopian tubes. I hope they take care of this quickly. Good luck and good health.

this does not make any sense to me. if they left any significant amount of placenta inside you would have bled and had to have another d&c. placenta left inside will find its way out. i have NEVER heard of this causing infertility. are you sure they didnt say you could be infertile because of the scraping because that can happen. we cant help you more than the doctors are, you need to put some trust in them. they know better than the vast majority of us on yahoo

any afterbirth left in you would have been expelled by now or it would be causing you big problems. I think I would talk to another doctor. That explanation does not make sense
