Light is the fasting moving thing in the universe, and according to many physicists nothing can travel faster than it

According to Einstein's theory of relativity, the speed of 300.000 km/s or speed of light is the fastest speed an object can travel. He came up with this, because a ray of light wich has no mass at all, travels at this speed. But theoritically, there are no limit to speed, such way as there are no limit to heat. So einstein theorize that when an object is moving around the speed of light or beyond, than the distance must be altered in some way. Thus the name 'relativity' which means the distance is relative, while the speed of light is exact. This controversial theory (at the time) opens up a whole new understanding among physicists. They theorize, if the distance can be altered, than time travel becomes possible.

This theory is one of the most mysterious theory till today in ways that the theory is correct on the paper, but no one has ever successfuly conduct an experiment to prove it. So theoritically it's correct, but none can prove it.

Perhaps in the future, there will come a theory that overthrow this theory? Perhaps, but for now, the answer is yes, speed of light is the fastest.

For the avoidance of doubt here, no particle has ever been tracked or observed travelling faster than the speed of light.

There are theoretical particles called tachyons which would travel faster than light, but these have never been observed.

The speed of light is not only the fastest known speed, it is also the only speed on which all observers agree (ie it is not relative to observer).

Consider this......when you look up at the stars at night, and you scan across the sky, the point at which you are looking is travelling faster than the speed of light! It takes light about 8 minutes to travel from the sun to the earth, however your vision can shift from the sun to the earth in a matter of milliseconds. So, there is my answer!

upto now only light is the fastest thing.

In the future, may be the scientists discover another particles which travels faster than light particles?

No, it is the fastest.
To be precise, the mind can travel faster. I mean, in your thoughts, you can find yourself anywhere you want in no time.

what a great question !
When man will be able to move faster then light, he can travel in time then.
