I can strongly recommend Kenya - I was there in August last year. It was one of the best holidays I've ever been on - especially as we visited the coast then headed inland to the Masai Mara and other national parks and reserves for safari.
If you'd like to read my experience see the travelogue section of http://kenya-safari-wildlife.blogspot.com and for a review and comparison of game parks and reserves see http://kenya-safari-wildlife.blogspot.com/2006/03/kenya-national-parks-and-reserves.html You should find an answer to every question you may have; from which jabs and malaria tablets to take, to recent news on the progress of the Great Wildebeest Migration.
It's a wonderful country and the wildlife isn't tagged as it is in the Kruger Park (SA) so the whole experience is far more natural and exciting. Also, to 'ensure' you see the big five - the Masai Mara is the reserve to visit - wildlife is varied and abundant. You'll have the time of your life!

Kenya by Miles.
Nairobi National Park right at the centre of sophistication ie 10 minutes drive from the city centre for a starter. Famed Maasai Mara awaits you at the heart of the great Rift Valley. Shaba National Park at the heart of the Samburu in Nothern Kenya. Oooh Mombasa Beaches! Warmth and hospitality of the people next to none.
The country's hotels are as good as any part in the world but their parks and other sites are ahead coz they still have that natural adventure with them.
And finally, dont forget to learn some swahili when you go there. They gave English the vocabulary 'Safari' which means an adventurous tour of East African bushes and parks.
How i envy you.

Hi there, Going on safari is a hell of an experience.... There are several places you could go and all very different.
My suggestion is the Serengeti,
At 14,673 sq km, the Serengeti is the largest and most famous national park in Tanzania. Its name derived from the Maasai word "siringet" means "endless space", an apt description for the magnificent rolling plains that give the Serengeti a timeless romantic beauty.
The landscape varies from the dramatic long and short grass plains in the South, to the more hilly wooded areas in the North, the extensive woodland in the Western corridor and the central savannah.
The Serengeti supports the richest wildlife populations on earth and is famous for the annual migration. This spectacle of millions of wildebeest and tens of thousands of zebra heading North into Kenya's Maasai Mara Game Reserve, in pursuit of water and forage as the seasons change, is one of the wonders of the world.
I hope that this helps, try having a look at the following web site: www.serengeti.org it may have further info for you.

What approximately Tanzania??? stunning. We went to Rufiji River Camp interior the Selous national Park final twelve months and it grew to become into no longer a sadness. it extremely is totally intimate and organic. We flew by way of gentle airplane from Dar es Salaam to get there. it extremely is not like a number of the extensive ones on the Masai Mara the place it extremely is merely crawling with jeeps or those in South Africa the place the animals are very almost tame. i know i'm generalising yet i could be dissappointed if i ended up in a sort of places. of direction it extremely is a private opinion. some people merely prefer to make certain the animals no rely what the set up is like. At Rufiji they take you out on boat safari the place you spot spectacular birds, diverse hippo, water buffalo (once you're fortunate like we've been), crocodiles and so on. On land we observed the familiar suspects. i do no longer think of they have Rhino there and we did no longer see leopard yet in actual life you're relatively fortunate to make certain a leopard. We did see a lion in spite of the undeniable fact that and that i grew to become into so emotional as quickly as I observed it. i prefer to pass lower back now!!

I've been on several safaris to different national parks and the absolute best is the Masai Mara. I will be returning there for the fifth time, to the same camp, in February 2007.

South Africa, there are several game parks as well as National Parks that you can visit. I am from SA and I found that Kruger National Park is the best. You can also take advantage of fab shops, wine, food, beaches and weather whilst you are there.
