Each new number is, specifically, the product of the previous three *digits* in the sequence.
4 * 6 * 1 = 24.
1 * 2 * 4 = 8.
2 * 4 * 8 = 64.
8 * 6 * 4 = 192.
1 * 9 * 2 = 18.
2 * 1 * 8 = 16.
8 * 1 * 6 = 48.

Therefore, the next five numbers would be:
6 * 4 * 8 = 192.
1 * 9 * 2 = 18.
2 * 1 * 8 = 16.
8 * 1 * 6 = 48.
6 * 4 * 8 = 192.

You can see that the sequence begins to repeat a four-number pattern.

Good luck!

if its the product of the digits ....
4*6*1=24 2*4=8 single now 8*4*2=64 2 consec #'s or 3 #'s 6*4*8 = 192 1*9*2= 18 1*8*2= 16 1*6*8 = 48

so 8*4*6 = 192

Brian has the right answer. However, I think the next number is derived by multplying the last three digits together.

If the last number is a three-digit number, the digits of that number is used.

If the last number is a two-digit number, the two digits of that number and the last digit of the number before that is used.

If the last number is a one-digit number, that digit is multiplied by the last two digits of the number before that.
