To clarify: I am NOT against torturing. My point is that the libs/dems/media have blasted this administration and this interview has not been mentioned anywhere by the libs/dems/media. THEY ARE HYPOCRITS. I hope that clears it up.

The people who are answering by saying that the legislation is aimed at terrorists need to read it. There is nothing it to prevent it from being abused by this president or any other. It's at the president discretion. If he decides that an American citizen is a threat then he can have that person picked up and detained indefinitely without the opportunity to make a case for their own defense.
I may be accused of exaggerating but I didn't write the bill. Read it for yourself.

Torture should never be ok in advance. If it occures, and those committing the torture are right, they might be forgiven under the right circumstances. If they're wrong though, then what they did is a crime and they should be punished for it.
This ensures such acts as last resort of desperate people only.

ABC investigative reporter that found the secret POW camps stated himself that the plot to bomb the British airliners was discovered thru the use of water boarding. That is over a thousand lives right there. They also according to him stopped a plot to place a large bomb in a skyscraper in California. ( imagine this they want to kill the anti war Liberals too) If you think that trading over a thousand peoples lives to stop the torture of a few hundred militants. The same militants that kidnap civilians, cut their heads off slowly while filming it, or burn and drag the bodies of American soldiers they capture thru the streets. Then by all means go for it. In my opinion if your willing to trade hundreds or thousands of your countryman's lives to stop the torture of a few MURDERERS, then I am really glad your not a friend of mine!
