If you think about it, it's true what Shakespear said, "The world is but a stage, and we are all actors..."

I agree...
... sacred and dark secrets and thoughts are what make us different and unique. As long as we are comfortable with it, can live with it, yeah, I believe the world is a stage where we can be actors of our dreams. Then, when we are by ourselves, we are the only one who can really know who we are.

Agree 100%
What a profound statement!!
This is why we are lonely in company. We keep our self so confidential and private that even as we pretend socializing or mixing or interacting with others, an important part of our real self is kept under lock and key out of reach of even those who may be closest to us - the result being an eternal loneliness.

That is true if that was the case. But I can tell my boyfriend any and everything. He knows my deepest and darkest secrets although no one else does. So I guess he is the only one who knows my true self and thats all that counts cuz he is my better half.

"All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players."
Actually this is the quote as written, and I agree, with "it"
NEVER is pretty subjective. Many of us do share, in an evolution of certain relationships.

I think whenever we are with others such as people we don't know well, that this could be true. But I also think that there are just some things about ourselves that people just don't need to know.

Being yourself is defined by what you do in different circumstances, be that interacting with others that know 'secrets' or those who don't. So no, I would not agree - I think we "are who we are" and if behaving in a different way with people or without goes with that, then so be it.

You know, you have a point there, but if we all shared our most deepest secrets or thoughts most us would be locked up. lol
