There is "Income tax","Tax as you spend", the Tory Favourite, also now the Tories have come up with the"Green or Carbon tax".You takes your money and makes your choice as to which one you prefer. But for me there is only one fair tax and that is Income tax. When a government cuts Income tax they have got to put it on indirect taxation because they cannot run the country without money and indirect taxation only benefits those who are the highest paid. Therefore the ones who now don't pay tax will have to make up the difference. Have you forgotten already how the Tories put on Household Fuel tax, Tax on Water even, all to pay for their tax cuts for the Wealthy.

There's only a fixed amount of money to go around, so all they're doing is robbing Peter to pay Paul. It may be that a minority will benefit, because, for some reason, perhaps they will not be liable for the new tax imposed. If they're giving something, however, that giving has to be funded, cos money doesn't grow on trees and that's a fact of life. (Wouldn't have any value if it did, would it!). From one happy taxpayer!!

I can not remember the present government cutting any taxes. Instead they have introduced lots of stealth taxes. They have taken huge amounts out of our pension funds then tell us we have to put more money into them.

When are you fools going to realise that Gordon Brown has just one agenda...that is to drain the hard-working sector of England of all its money so that he can continue to mismanage it and hand it out to scroungers and wasters who could'nt give a damn about England...they do however, continue to vote for him so that the flow of money will continue

The tax cuts never seem to apply to me, single, non-drinker, non-smoker, don't have a car, reasonable salary.
But the tax hikes, well they get me every time.
