I believe in it when said with sincerity. Sorry can go along way to mending broken relationships. But, I agree, empty sorrys are insulting. I have been trying to instill that idea into my kids. They'll do something they know they aren't supposed to do and then say "sorry". I always tell them, "I don't want to hear sorry if you don't mean it." We've had long talks about the importance of only saying it if you mean it.

I agree with you completely. People throw that word around and most of the time don't mean it at all. I've heard I'm sorry over and over again but it stopped them from doing whatever they were sorry for. We need a new word.

I agree - sorry is a very misused and insulted word.
I still believe it sometimes, from my mum, and from my son, who is 4 and still too young to understand that you can say something without meaning it. He means everything he says, however unimportant - sweet innocence!
I hardly ever believe it from my man - he says it to keep me quiet and keep the peace, and I never believe it from my sister any more. She says "sorry" and then repeats performance the next day...
Try to believe it when you can!
;-)

I believe in the word sorry but I keep my eyes open lest they do it again, then I don't believe anything they say after that.

Yes. It is very important to admit you are wrong when you are. I think most people mean it when they say it, or at least realize they were wrong.

I like the concept of sorry.
It has been over used & lost it's true meaning.
I rarely use it.
