I don't believe so only your dating scan will tell you how far along you are although a pregnancy test works based on the amount of the pregnancy hormone it detects after you have pee'd on it. It is possible this may be the case with you, if you are quite far gone you may have more of the hormone than most people just finding out using tests but whether it makes the results show any quicker i am not to sure. My positive result came up in about 45 seconds & it said whether a faint cross or very dark cross it is still a positive result. I assumed that because i had a very very dark cross i must have been quite far gone & had lots of the hormone, on my first dating scan it turned out i was 7 weeks & 3 days......so i guess you could say possibly?!!! Hope it all goes well for you & congratulations! xx

No, it just means that you have a high level of the pregnancy hormones in your system. Your GP will initially estimate how far along you are by calculating the date from your last period. A scan at the hospital will give you a more accurate date.

Good luck with everything.

it all depends when the first day of your last period was and how strong the urine sample was if quite diluted then there wont be much to detect. i tested pos at 5 weeks but it was only a faint line but by 6 1/2 weeks the line had got stronger. it all depends how strong the hormones have gotten. they double in strength every 2 to 3 days. the only way to tell for sure how far along you are is to have a dating scan. congrats and good luck

Mine showed up a very dark colour immediately as i 'used' it! It was only 2 weeks since conception. Check the box, if you still have it, a good test will detect it from a day or two before your missed period and there will be a wee graph on the box explaining how many days you are into your cycle and how reliable the reading is.

No it just means that the pregnancy test detected the harmone and you are pregnant. In order to find out how far along you are is to go to a doctor.

Congratulations! How far along you are depends on when your had your last period and when you had sex. If you can date these precisely, you'll know exactly how far gone you are. Other than that, wait for the 12 week scan, which will give you a very accurate date based on the size of the baby's head and leg measurements.

no it doesnt mean that you are far along it is just that the test picked up quicker then any other. it happened to me it showed positive within 30 sec and i though the same as you i went ot my gp and spoke to them and they told me that i was only 2 weeks which isnt far at all. if you are worried don`t be there is nothing to worry about, go to your GP speak to him/her and tell them about the test they will then work out how far gone you are, then hopefull it will set ur mind at rest. all the best for you and the baby. congratz x

Yes you are pregnant. But the rate at which the test changes has nothing to do with how far along you are.
You need to work out when your last period is, or have a dating scan.

It means that you have a high level of the chemical in your body which the test checks for. It doesn't mean that you are far along.
