I stayed in the Cumberland earlier this year, very trendy entrance with morphing lights! rooms were also trendy, compact but nice, and very clean. Lovely flat screen on the bedroom wall.
However 2 drinks at the bar came to £19! (1 beer 1 spirit and mixer)
Its easy to walk to shops and park just opposite (speakers corner is funny)

The Cumberland is just off Oxford Street, great location for shops, bars and theatres in the centre of town.

It has a really funky entrance, and £19 for two drinks in a good London bar is not as extortionate as it might sound.

No sorry, but I saw your answer to the Keane question about cover versions, and wanted to tell you that "Say Hello, Wave Goodbye" by Soft Cell was covered by David Gray on his album "White Ladder"!

Cheers! :-)
