Knowing this, shouldn't the goverment just correct the error from years ago?

Yes they should but they won't. They've got a good thing going and they don't want people to know that they're taking our money without a law saying they can do so. Of course if we stop paying they will come after us and take away everything we own. No one said living in America was fair.

Technically the only ones who legally should be paying taxes are the ones who are not.. (ie. government employees, immagrents, us citizens working overseas... etc etc).. They "don't need" to "correct the error" because to them there is no error... the supreme court has held up cases where people have used that and protested from paying them.. but since the supreme court has ruled against those people- it becomes "law".... you'd never win fighting it in court.
