Overrated celebrity has to be Tom Cruise..he really isn't a very good actor, when he has to use an accent in a movie he switch hits it throughout the movie and drops it completely in some scenes...hes a real doofus that is pursued by the media constantly ..and I never could figure out why, at least Nicole used his celebrity to get herself somewhere but then he dumped her to save himself some cash...what a butt-munch...and all this big deal about his illegitimate kid!! WHY??

The whole concept of celebrity is over rated! Too many people are famous for nothing, and the tabloids, and magazines like heat, only serve to worsen the situation. We are now living in a culture where young peoples only ambition is to be famous, not famous for a reason, but because they think life will be easy if they manage to get on Big Brother. There should be a reason for fame, and that reason should be talent, and not because you're the friend/sibling/partner of someone who has worked to get where they are ie: Wayne Rooney and his missus Coleen, who for some reason has a book out! No one gives a toss about her life story!

I do think most of them are but I particularly dislike anyone who writes a book at the age of 25 thinking they have been there and done it all! ie. Jordan and Kerry Katona and Colleen. Also hate Posh & Becks, Tom Cruise & Katie Holmes and Paris Hilton.
I didn't relaise I disliked so many people until I answered this!

I agree with most people - all of them! I hate the way they believe their own self importance.
- Kate Moss (What happened to the kid??)
- The waster boyfriend, who if he was a normal person, would be doing time by now
- Madonna - just bloody retire!
- Ang & Brad - for starting all this easy to adopt a rainbow kid
- Tony Blair & the leech wife
- Pretty much all of the royal family - more leeches
- Lily Allen... v. overrated.
- Nicole Richie - for getting column inches when looking like a spoon
- Paris - always got her muff out
- Sophie Anderton & that daft Jasmin bint - seriously, you worth nothing to arabs
- soap stars
- Posh spice - just for believing in herself way way too much.
ALL THESE PEOPLE COULD DO SO MUCH MORE FOR OTHERS & DO THE BARE BLOODY MINIMUM!

My personal dictionary defines celebrity as overrated.
Most of our "celebrities" are there because the are shag all use at anything else- which is usually how they got where they are!!
However our general public are moronic enough to take their every utterance as god given....
Don't mistake celebrity for art. True artists get on with the job of entertaining and then go home quietly.
