Unfortunately, PC time is never accurate because of the many different PC brands out there, the age of the PC and the components being used.

Switching out the CMOS battery is a good start.

You can keep current time however by synchronizing your PC by using an Internet time server, which is the correct time. By doing this, you will automatically syncronize your PC every few minutes with an Internet Time server as long as you are on the Internet.

If you are running Windows XP (I'm assuming you are) double-click on the time in the system tray in the lower right.

There is a tab called Internet Time. Choose it.

Check the box: Automatically syncronize with an Internet Time Server

In the Server box, type: time-b.nist.gov

Hit the Update Now button.

A message should come back to you telling you that your PC has been syncronized.

Good Luck!
