Do you feel intimidated by the fact that you have none. Does it make you feel insecure. And do you think it is time for your to get those qualifications, would they improve your career prospects?.

Not for me do I ask this question, but for my Husband who has been doing his job for years..and one for which he has no qualifications. However, it is starting to bug him as he now gets berated for not having the qualifications, though he can run circles around those who have..

Unfortunately in this day and age you need them, not that they usually have any bearing on the persons capability

How can your husband do a job for years with no qualifications. He is obviously qualified if he is doing the job. It sounds to me they are either a malicious bunch where he works or they are trying to get rid of him for whatever reasons, using some lame excuses. He should hold his head high and forget about what others say. If he knows he's doing a good job he should not worry.

if they are on the same level as you. i.e your doing the same job, always do the qualifications that the people above you have. That way you'll climb the ladder faster and after your certificate you can ask for a pay rise or move on to a better paid position.

bull baffles brains, a certificate will always be better than experience, you cant prove experience but a certificate, its there in black and white. seen a job advert for McDonald's need 3 gcse pass levels to serve hamburgers, go figure
