Certainly on World economics it's a two edged sword. It has the likelyhood of being the number one liquid consumed world wide, second only to water, which profits many,,, BUT it also uses personal profits in its consumption,,, often extending to a lost work day,,, the day after, at least,,,smiles.

It also might be considered a number one factor globally in chronic alchoholism, but I bet comparative studies would show it's enjoyed by a majority, who are not alcoholics.

It's a natural substance, I enjoy it, and I hope to be able for many more years.

Certainly abuses of anything can have negative effects, but,,, Then too can some Positive Actions and feelings have negative effects as well.

Example: I make an effort to convert someone who happens to be publically intoxicated,,,at least into seeking help for them, as they seem to be in dire straits. They push me off, and I'm hit and killed by a moving bus.

most things are good for you in moderation its all about every individual's self control. So the effects of beer on the world are relative depending on who is partaking of its goodness :)
