depends what it is first of all, if its something that can be cleaned and painted then i would first sandpaper all the rust off, then treat the sanded area to a coat of rust control paint, when dry paint it again with paint suitable for whatever the material it is

I could have sworn that I read somewhere that Coca Cola dissolves rust. Seriously!

grease it, lubricate it, use diluted hydrochloric acid, use nail polisher(it works!), put it in salted water and zap it with 220v DC charges, or if you are really really tired of doing all these and wasting you time, buy a new one.

...Duh.

Grease it up. Sand blast maybe. I dont know what kind of metal it is. )o(

sand blast it & seal it with rust inhibitor paint.
