Instead of running around and playing with the pets? Do you think fat lazy obese kids should be jailed or executed for cruelty to animals?

Why are we neutering obese pet owners if all it does is change their metabolism?

most pets are overweight because of feeding habits, owners feed them to much people food, a treat now and then is fine but everyone seems to think more is better, and it is not. our pets are just like us when it comes to being obese , it is very unhealthy and is very very hard on animals organs to be overweight all of my animals are healthy and not obese, they are fed the proper amount of food to maintain them and are rarely fed people food, while there is some truth to the theory that an animal that has been spayed or nuetered will gain weight there is still the food factor and exercise factor, that is the main reason, after an animal has been fixed they do sometimes slow down a bit and not all hyped up all the time, all of my animals are fixed and have not gained weight because i watch what and how much they eat, they are very happy and healthy, and yes sometimes there is a medical reason for weight gain, but it can be controlled also...a pet does not have to have an obese owner for that animal to be fat!!!!people food is proof to making a fat and obese pet though look at this country and what we eat, obesity is in the top slot for health problems in this country, and most of it is the junk that we are eating, and no i am not obese or even a little fat, i tend to watch what we eat and get plenty of exercise, the same goes for my pets...

I used to have an extremely fat cat. She was kinda fat when I got her but she got even fatter with me. It was totally my fault because I would give her some of my food everytime I ate. I thought how cute that this cat would eat right out of the palm of my hand. What I didn't fully understand is that giving animals peolpe food is not good for them at all. Well atleast not breakfast, lunch and dinner.

I am far beyond from being fat. I am still a little underweight. I am a bit lazy when it comes to housework. I guess what I am saying is you don't have to be fat to be lazy. I live quite a busy life so maybe that is why I am a bit lazy when it comes to house work.

Lesson learned, now I have four cats who are at a good weight. Not too fat, not too skinny and no people food!

People shouldn't be punished for over feeding their animals. People should be eduacted on the consquences of an obesed animal.

I have a fat beagle. She weighs 55 pounds, I put her on a diet she's down to 50 pounds.
I'm 5'4" and weigh 120 pounds.
So, NO!
Any more silly questions from the peanut gallery?

not all pets that are fat are because their owners dont walk or play with them. (although some other pet owners may be feeding their animals twinkies!) I say if you get a pet u most show them the love and attention it needs otherwise why bother??

No, they are fat because they are neutered and that changes their hormones and their appetite. We keep our cat on a diet, but he keeps asking for food. You really can't deny to him when he is really begging and he feels so hungry he can't sleep or play or anything, just sits outside the cupboard and cries! He is not really fat, but he is at the limit. We do play with him a lot, and he is really fast when we do, but still he likes eating.
