My friends sometimes let me down. And, I wonder if it is because I have such friends or it is me expecting too much from them?

Remember that people will always let you down, especially when you expect something from them. I think that is one of the best things to remember. Don't expect things because the fact of the matter is that people will always let you down so it's better not to expect things from others, and then you won't be disappointed. However, true friends will always be there for you. Sometimes when you need someone the most is when you find out that their not really someone you could count on. the truth hurts, but at least now you know.

Not realy but most of your frineds can be counted on. Some friends can be too jealous of you and they may not give their best to help you. Sometimes, friends pull you down. But anyway, just trust just some of your friends and not all of them for there would always be some who would bite while you turn your back.

If friends go wrong though, you need to forgive them for they aren't perfect just as how you can be at times...

I would never rely on friends. They are great to have around but are like the whole of mankind essentially altruistic.

As long as you don't expect anything from them they will be fine and if you do get something form them it will be a pleasant surprise. Put faith in their reliability and you will only put yourself in a position of being let down

You can count on some friends, but not all. I have a few friends I love to death but cannot trust them or count on them at all. But there are the other friends who I know I can.

its difficult to find a true friend now a days..Theres different category of friend..

Friend - like someone who hang out with you a lot
Friend - like someone who talk to you all the the time at work
Friend - like someone who help you no matter what.

When you make friends you dont have to expect something in return.. If you help them, because you are being a true friend to them not because just in case you need help, you can get help from them..

Do not expect, and you will be happy.. Enjoy friend even they are able to help you or not.

yes u can count on your friends
but not always
it depends on the friends u have. If u have friends that always help u then u can count and maybe sometimes u might be hurting them then they might let u down

I would not dwell too much on friends. People are born with selfish streaks in them, its called survival. Some have it more than others, so people tend to say things and not mean it as something else might come up and it will beneifit them more than doing whatever for you. Family are the ONLY ones who MOST people give their unconditional love to. So just remember, if they dont have your unconditional love, they aint worth trusting, yeah they might be real close to you, but deep deep down, your family are still number one. Plus if you rely on people, you are only setting yourself up to get mad or letdown, ifs something is worth doing, do it yourself i say.

some of my friends i can count on, but others i can't...here's an example...one so called friend invited me to her place for a few drinks and dinner because i was feeling pretty crap and i needed some girl company, she called me and arranged for me to go over, when i got there she was not home (she was but didn't answer the door), i called her cell and she hit the off button, maybe she didn't want to hear my crap, but i have been there for her 100% many times, when i saw her she made this mad story up about her mum needing her, thing was, her mum didn't need her at all because i saw her mum and she looked quite happy as far as i was concerned...she was just bullshitting me, so i dropped her...now we don't talk at all....don't dwell on it hun, there's always some other friends that you can rely on...it just shows you who your friends really are

In my experience my friends have always let me down. But i still have to trust people just know that people are selfish sometimes and hurt feelings. I wish i could find one person outside my husband and mom that could truely be my best friend sometimes its hard for me to let people in.
