I'm in high school right now. I have to do, on average, 4-5 hours of homework a night. I do it the night I get it and I try not to procrastinate. Since I get home around 4PM, spend an hour at dinner and an hour mucking around, I usually sleep around 11-12. However, about once a week, I have to stay up until around 2-3AM because of all the work and extracurriculars.
Our teachers also grade insanely hard, so I can't afford to not do my homework if I want to keep up my GPA, which is around 3.9 - and my school doesn't weigh GPAs for AP courses. =/
People who complain that kids don't get enough work to do have never seen my school.

I only did what homework I could'nt finish in class. Maybe an hour or 2 a week. The way I see, school work is meant to be done at school. So I did my homework in class, and rarely ever even took my books home. I was an A-B student , and did well on tests.

i'm still in high school and well the work load is piling up as the exams are round the corner but i never had to do homework every night..it depends on whether i have lots of homework for the day or not. sometimes if the work's not due, then i wont do it till the day before, so it all depends on ur priorities and how u manage your work load. but like on average, its 1-2hrs a day.

I was home schooled so I would have to say about an average of 6 hours of "homework" everyday

Never did my homework... I live in England though so I don't think many of us do.. I did when i first started but towards the end of the year I couldn't be bothered with it.

Depends i would usually spend bout 10 hours doin evbit of h/w the day b4 they were due in cos it made it more excitin lol
