With political sociology you are more likely to study how the system is working, for instance what kind of government is it. How do they or dont they represent their consitituents. What groups are active lobbyists.

This is in contrast to political science where you are going to study why the political groups exist in the fashion they do and how they will handle specific issues. How will conservative or liberal agendas translate into election victories. How will this statement affect so and so's chances to overthrow an incumbent.
