No not mermaids they were actually, believe it or not..........possums, yeah hard to believe I know

Mermaids have been attributed to many different creatures, though mostly to dolphins and manatees (sea-cows).
The dragon is a very big mystery because they feature in many different mythologies from all over the world, not just the west. The dragon supposedly slain by St George was no creature, it was the Welsh, who still proudly emblazon a dragon on their national flag. There is still one living bread known by the dragon name - the Kimodo Dragon, who does not breath fire, but whose saliva is so powerful it would burn through your skin, poison your blood and kill you.
Ducks? I'll regard that as a satyrical & rhetorical question.
