Hi,

This is not a Yahoo or Google feature, its called autocomplete and is an internet browser setting.
Turning it off is quite simple:
In Internet Explorer go to Tools->Internet Options, click on the Content tab, then click the Auto Complete button.

You'll have the choice to turn it off for Web addresses, Forms, Usernames and passwords.

So if you want to stop Yahoo and Google search boxes from auto completing from previous searches then uncheck the "forms" box and click the "Clear Forms" button

This is permanent...

Search History is a browser functionality - it's not a service provided by either portal.

To delete your Search History go into your preferences and empty your cache. This is not a permanant solution though - you have to keep doing it.

Definitely in control panel, internet options and clear history.
This will clear all the sites that have been recently visited though.
I have tried to delete ones in the address drop down bar and will not delete.

Hi!

It's simple really, just highlight the previously searched 'term' or 'phrase' and simply hit the delete button.

Hey Presto! It's gone!

Hope this helps!!
