And WHO art thou, O WISE ONE?

I think that the world is not getting more complex at all. The technological changes of the past 200 years haven't made the world more complex, they've made it harder to ignore. The problems are pretty much the same ones people and countries have always had.

From the American perspective, while the world has not changed much, our government has certainly gotten more complicated, in two broad ways. One, it gets involved in more areas than it used to back when it stayed within the boundaries of the Constitution, and two, we now give the vote to people who use words like "complexer".

The primary reason that politicians in general are not as sharp as they once were is because the election process has turned into more of an advertising campaign than a forum for statesmen. As a country we are more concerned with form and appearances than issues and integrity. The people who prevail in this political climate are closer to salesmen than scholars. Very few politicians agree to debate the issues, and too many high ranking cabinet members and legislators cannot or will not answer questions without prepared, canned answers. Two recent presidents, Bill Clinton and George Bush Sr., were both scholarly and highly intelligent. Unfortunately
our current president is neither. His major qualification seems to be his ability to raise money and get elected. Until people realize that good looks and personality are not reasonable criteria for electing a president, we are going to be stuck with
mediocre , anti-intellectual dolts like Bush.

nicely, say what you choose approximately Bush, yet if you consider that 9-11 there has no longer been a single hijacking of an American airliner everywhere in the international. issues are plenty safer attributable to the stand Bush took against terrorism. needless to say if Clinton had taken that form of a stand while the WTC develop into first attacked in 1993 there could never have been a Sept. 11, 2001 attack could there. Thank goodness we don't have a mealey-mouthed, honey-tongued wimp of a Democrat in the White domicile or we could have been attacked again and again by way of now. I sleep peacefully understanding that I easily have a reliable chief government in place of work.

Try being the president of the USA for one day and see if you survive? It is a thankless job because no matter which decision you make, it is wrong to about half the people of the USA. You can't win. Presidents are not getting dumber. Times are getting harder.

Getting complexer? Huh???

You mean getting more complex?

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black!!

If you are going to ask a question pointing out the level of a persons intelligence perhaps you should make sure you show some.
