My children are 2 and 4 years old. I intend to rent a van and travel in the USA (not sure which town). What is the minimum age for children to sit without special car seat? Does the car rental company provide these seats?

Yes you will need them, no they do not provide them. Depending on where you are going the laws may differ, but I know in my state it is done by the childs weight. See the link below for some help on this issue:

I think you do need a car seat. for the ages of your children but not sure what age because I don't have any kids. Ask the car rental company to see if they do provide these seats before you make your plans. You need to plan ahead. I wish you well.

its mandatory for childeren to be in car seats up till the age of 6 (i believe) you better call ahead and speak to the car rental agency as they probably will be able to provide you with the car seats but probably will need advance notice to be able to do so

Every state has its own laws, depending on the child's age, weight and/ or height.
