Firstly, I am not that kind.
Dealing with them is easy...TALK and make it crystal clear that you do NOT appreciate people or anyone touching you. May be explain that you are allergic and Doc has asked you to resist contact. Thats most polite and diplomatic.
My way - Straight away..TELL that person in front of a lot of people " Please dont TOUCH me when you have to talk to me, If you speak I can understand, thanks". Thats clear and depends on you to make it loud enough.

I do not touch people when I speak to them but I don't mind people who do. I find it distracting though because my eyes generally follow someone's hand as it nears me. My Aunt does it and I can't help but smile because I can tell she is unaware of what she's doing.
It's the people that need to get in my face to talk that bother me, you know the kind that have to be almost nose to nose?
It's all just a personal boundary issue.

I'm not. And with the exception of a few waitress in the coffee shop , which will put a hand on my shoulder while I'm seated..I've not really had someone touch me to talk. I've thought about this question, could see where folks could be uncomfortable with this. I guess i just don't project to be outwardly friendly( I'm really a big Teddy bear)...

Yes, i am one of these people, i touch people on their arm many times when i speak to them. i do not know why, i guess it is a habit, no one has ever told her or acted as though they were offended. and when people touch me in conversation i do not become offended, unless they would touch me in an inappropriate manner i am not bothered. Good luck and God bless

If it's someone I don't know, I usually recoil in horror and mace them in the face.
If it's someone I know that's touching me...then they've been invited to do so, because I'm not a big touchy-feely kinda person, and I have to really really like the person to allow them to touch me.

I am a "touch person". It is easy to tell in conversation and by watching a person's body language if they are a touch person or not. There is usually no need to tell someone not to touch you.
