The event is a big product launch, press, customers, the odd celeb thrown in (probably z list!)
The options are.....
Dark Silver dress, totally backless, high neckline, floor length, beautifully cut on the bias, and tailor made for me in Dubai, pure silk, silver heels, although these will be hidden by dress.... or
Dark Red, although much more gown like, fuller skirt, tight bodice, lower neckline, floor length again, with red suede strappy heels, again, hidden by the dress, very well cut.
Both cost a bloody fortune and I haven't had a chance to wear either, whatever I don't wear tonight, I will wear next week to another awards event....
What do you think? Red or Silver?

sorry the silver dress is not totally backless.... otherwise my backside will be on full display... but plunging back down to the top of my bottom!

The red one sounds nicer, red is a compatible colour for black tie dinners. The silver sounds more like it belongs on a catwalk. Mind you, Z listers do dress to shine so maybe the silver would be better, out do the Z listers!! lol! have a good time, whatever you decide! x

They both sound fantastic.
On balance, by a short head, wear the silver for the press launch and keep the red for the awards.

Unless you've got a body and face to die for - dont draw too much attention to your self. whatever you decide make sure it's classy and not OTT. The silver sounds a bit loud. Have you got black with some sparkly jewellery and sparkly shoes? anyway good luck - sounds fun!

parties sparkly and silk are good. casual night out cute jeans and shirt.but for this Silver is best because silk,heels totally glam!but red is a good color for something like this but features of the silver dress are better.

liz,i suggest you go down to the video shop and grab a copy of ' PRACILLA, QUEEN OF THE DESSERT' There is some absolutely fabulous gowns in that movie. the ones i thought really adorable were when they were on top of the bus. ===i hope yahoo does not censor this answer as well ===
